About Meetings:

Back to Page Top

If you have never been to an A.A. meeting, or it has been a long time, it is easy. Pick one out of the schedule and go, or call the E.V.I office at 342-4113 and tell whoever answers the phone that you would like some encouragement and help going to your first meeting, I am sure we will find someone in the program who would be glad to accompany you and ease any jitters. A.A. meetings are not embarrassing, no one is going to quiz you or make you speak in front of a group. A.A. is not religious, and many atheist and agnostics have found a comfortable place in our fellowship. It is perfectly O.K to say you are just visiting, and just listen. We hope that you will hear something that will be a profound help to you. See faq: new to a.a.? for a little more information. Each A.A. group is autonomous, If you try a few different meetings you will notice that each has its own character, and you can find one in which you feel comfortable.
